Bulgaria
Born in 1985 in Bulgaria, post-graduation from Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” in fashion design I moved to Antwerp, Belgium where I currently study and work.
After discovering the wide possibilities and freedom to experiment, that contemporary jewelry art gives, I did transition from fashion design to jewelry making.
My most recent project is series of works called “Transmogrification”. Through those artistic pieces I have been trying to investigate where the borders between transient and everlasting begins and how we define them. At first, when I began this project, the main accent was to emphasize the ever-growing concern of how we use plastic, such as packaging on daily basis. It made me think of alternative ways to give it a second life. While studying the physical properties of the material I found the vast potential to alter its form and through repetitive modules to give it structure and let those newly composed shapes unfold. The final pieces give the sensation of a living being, yet with architectural rigidity and form. It recalls us that working hand in hand makes humanity evolve.
