Johee Han è da sempre attratta dal paesaggio urbano dal quale ha preso ispirazione per la creazione dei suoi gioielli. Ha effettuato un’attenta analisi delle strade, le forme, i colori e le strutture delle case, delle irregolarità e diversità degli edifici. Le varie scene di un vicolo sono state miniaturizzate ed astratte e quindi ricreate come nuovo spazio indipendente.
Johee Han has always been drawn to urban landscapes, from which she has taken inspiration for her jewellery making. The artist has made an analysis of the shapes and structures of streets, houses, of the irregularity and diversity of buildings. The various scenes of an alley were taken and abstracted and consequently recreated as a new independent space.

Maria Rosa Franzin, esponente della Scuola di Padova, rimane fedele all’uso di materiali classici del mondo del gioiello, come l’oro e l’argento, seppure con l’introduzione, negli ultimi anni, di resine che conferiscono colore alle opere. Caratteristico del suo modo di lavorare, è l’uso quasi intangibile dell’oro sulla superficie dell’argento brunito o bianco, piccoli frammenti che catturano la luce così da rivelarci la bellezza e lo splendore del colore. I suoi gioielli si sviluppano spesso mediante un doppio strato e presentano un’ulteriore tridimensionalità con elementi che fuoriescono dalla superficie, così da creare interessanti giochi di ombre.
Maria Rosa Franzin, part of the Padua School movement, remains true to the use of materials that are typical of the jewellery world, such as gold and silver, although these have seen the introduction, in recent years, of resins conferring colour to her pieces. A characteristic of the work is the use of tiny specks of gold on the surface of oxidised or white silver, small fragments that capture the light so as to reveal the beauty and the warmth of their colour. The artist’s works often feature a double-layered surface and offer an additional three-dimensional aspect with protruding elements, so as to create an interesting play of shadows.

Beate Eismann seleziona i materiali e le tecniche in base a ciò che vuole esprimere con un’opera. Il suo approccio eclettico le permette di passare da un tipo di materiale o tecnica, ad un altro. L’artista combina le più moderne tecnologie con metodi di lavorazione classici, in un’interessante combinazione di tradizione e innovazione. Spesso, il lavoro dell’artista indaga il potenziale della riproduzione ed il suo rapporto con l’oggetto originale. L’opera selezionata per la collezione fa parte di un gruppo di circa 25 pezzi, realizzati con carta fatta a mano, in cui vengono incorporate particelle di metallo, pietre preziose e/o parti tessili.
In her making process, Beate Eismann selects materials and techniques according to what she wants to express with a piece. Her eclectic approach allows her to move from one type of material or technique, to another. The artist combines latest technology with traditional methods, resulting in an interesting mix of old and new. Her work often investigates the potential of reproduction and its relationship to the original object. The piece selected for the collection forms part of a group of about 25 pieces. They consist of handmade paper in which metal particles, precious stones and/or textile parts were worked into.

L’essenza del lavoro di Elisabetta Duprè si basa sul dettaglio, quasi maniacale, del piccolissimo elemento. Sono opere perfette nella loro imperfezione, dove la manualità traspira da ogni poro. Le opere denominate “Mesh Surface” sono strutture formate da tante piccole lastre in argento, tenute assieme da cerchi minuti che uniscono i vari lembi, quasi fossero cuciti. Sono strutture tridimensionali che seguono il movimento del corpo e si gettano nello spazio circostante.
Elisabetta Duprè’s works are essentially based on minute detail. The pieces are perfect in their imperfection, where manual techniques ooze from every pore. The pieces under the title “Mesh Surface”, are mobile structures formed by many minute pieces of silver, held together by tiny rings, as if they were sewn. They are three-dimensional structures that follow the body’s movement and plunge into the surrounding space.

I suoi sono gioielli meticolosamente costruiti che entrano in perfetta armonia con il corpo umano.
Babette von Dohnanyi’s jewellery can be described as powerful, strong and rigorous. It has a sculptural quality and often makes reference to pure geometrical shapes. Stones or crystals are often incorporated and contrast with the matt finish of the surface of the metal. This artist leaves out the superfluous concentrating on the purity of the form, in meticulously constructed pieces that come into perfect harmony with the body.

Una delle parole chiave nei gioielli di Corrado De Meo è “volume”. I volumi creati vanno ad interagire con lo spazio circostante e di conseguenza definiscono un’armonia con il corpo umano. La totale assenza di peso va in contraddizione con ciò che l’occhio vede e, di consequenza, crea stupore nello spettatore. L’artista è affascinato dalla trasformazione e metamorfosi che i materiali subiscono durante la fase lavorativa. Compie una prima azione istintiva con il colore che al contrario, in seguito, si conferma un atto conscio e voluto.
One of the keywords in Corrado De Meo’s jewellery is volume. The volumes he creates interact with the space surrounding the object and consequently define the harmony these structures create with the human body. The weightlessness of his jewellery contradicts what is seen and, as a result, creates surprise in the viewer. He is fascinated by the transformation and metamorphosis that materials undergo during the working process. The artist performs an initial instinctive act with the colour he uses, that is subsequently confirmed as being a conscious and voluntary action.

Trinidad Contreras analizza i bisogni primari dell’uomo ed il modo in cui discerne su ciò che è essenziale. L’opera in questione si compone di due parti dove la contraddizione e tensione creata dalla forma e dal materiale cercano un equilibrio. Rigidità contro duttilità, fragilità e resistenza, freddo e caldo, morbidezza e ruvidezza, luce e ombra, la geometria e l’organico. L’artista si è avvalsa di tecniche antiche per realizzare il pezzo, oltre all’uso di materiali come la porcellana ed il cuoio, facenti parte del nostro patrimonio culturale.
Trinidad Contreras analyzes primary needs and how man is faced with deciding what is essential. The piece in question is made up of two parts, where the contradiction and tension created by the form and the material seek a balance. Rigidity versus malleability, fragility and resistance, cold and warm, softness and roughness, light and shade, geometry as opposed to organic. The artist has availed herself of ancient techniques to make the piece and has used materials such as porcelain and leather that are part of our cultural heritage.

Donna Brennan esplora il linguaggio del gioiello, alla ricerca di uno stravolgimento dei luoghi comuni ad esso connesso. I suoi gioielli fotocromatici ci mettono in stretta relazione con oggetti che cambiano continuamente al variare dell’ambiente circostante. Donna Brennan’s work explores the language of jewellery by causing a displacement in the clichés of the language of traditional jewellery. Her research aims to shed new light on our perception of jewellery, calling into question our pre-conceived notions. Her photochromatic jewellery allows us to engage with an object that is constantly changing in response to its environment. Depending on the time of day, season, and environment in which the jewellery is worn, it reveals its innate qualities differently and alters our perceptions and pre-conceptions.

La serie chiamata Random Processes (Processi Casuali), rappresenta una storia sul tema delle possibilità e delle occasioni che capitano nella vita di ognuno di noi. Questo lavoro viene svolto attraverso l’uso della tecnica della fusione, utilizzata qui come metafora. Ciò che si inserisce all’interno del cilindro per la fusione, così come nella nostra vita, non sempre esce come ce lo aspettavamo. Il messaggio è quello di non disperarsi per i risultati non ottenuti, ma di guardare avanti con attenzione alle nuove opportunità che ci si presentano.
The series entitled Random Processes represents a story about possibilities and opportunities that occur to each of us in life. These works, carried out by means of sand casting techniques, are used as a metaphor. What is put into the casting cylinder, as also into our lives, not always comes out as we expected. Hence, we should not despair for the lack of results obtained, but look ahead at new opportunities that are presented with curiosity.

Le ultime ricerche di Francesca Antonello si concentrano sull’erosione della roccia che è stata reinterpretata in un interessante parallelo con il complesso universo dei sentimenti umani. La curiosità dell’artista per i materiali la porta ad esplorare la loro consistenza, il colore, la trasparenza, la loro natura porosa e tattile, indagando la possibilità di trasformare tali materiali attraverso un processo istintivo. Entrambi i lati, anche il lato posteriore dell’opera, assumono importanza. Le imperfezioni del materiale diventano una caratteristica ed un mezzo per interpretare la memoria.
Francesca Antonello’s latest research has focussed on rock erosion, that has been reinterpreted in an interesting parallel with the complex universe of human feelings. The artist’s curiosity for materials has brought her to explore their consistency, colour, transparency, their porous and tactile natures, investigating the possibility of transforming such materials through an instinctive process. She takes into account both sides of the piece, so that as much importance is given to the back. Imperfections in the material become a feature and a means of interpreting memory.
