Da piccolo ero affascinato dall’atmosfera del laboratorio, dalle attrezzature orafe, dai gioielli che mio padre creava nella sua bottega. Dopo aver conseguito la Maturità in Arte Applicata - sezione Oreficeria - presso l’Istituto d’Arte di Trento, per me l’oreficeria è diventata principalmente un lavoro, a cui ho accompagnato studi e letture che m’hanno aperto ad un nuovo mondo: l’oreficeria d’arte. Con fortuna e, talvolta, con il sostegno ricevuto nel mentre nutrivo i miei interessi, a ventidue anni ho intrapreso gli studi accademici, prima a Düsseldorf, poi a Salisburgo ed infine in Olanda. Tutto ciò mi ha consentito di entrare in contatto con figure di grande rilievo nel mondo del gioiello contemporaneo italiano e internazionale, scoprire nuovi materiali e nuove metodologie di approccio nella produzione di un manufatto o di una serie di oggetti. Per me il gioiello era e, tutt’oggi, rimane l’occasione per trovare un momento da dedicare a me stesso, un momento per coltivare fantasia ed ingegno. L’arte di realizzare gioielli è l’interagire di improvvisazione, maestria e della perseveranza necessaria a non perdere il filo di un processo creativo che mi accompagna anche quando non sono al banco di lavoro. Mi tengo aggiornato in tema di gioielli così come su altri temi, continuo il mio percorso con sincera dedizione e, nel mentre, accumulo esperienza grazie ad un costante lavoro ispirato ad un preciso concetto di fondo.
As a child I was charmed by the atmosphere of the workshop, the goldsmith's equipment, the jewels that my father created in his artisan shop. After I graduated in applied arts - specializing in goldsmithing at the High School of Arts of Trento - for me goldsmithing became mainly a job, that I’ve accompanied with studies and readings that opened up a new world for me: the goldsmith’s art. Thanks to luck and to the support that I sometimes happened to receive while nurturing my interests, aged twenty-two I undertook the academic studies, at first in Düsseldorf, then in Salzburg and eventually in Holland. All that made it possible for me to get in touch with outstanding personalities in the world of Italian and international contemporary jewellery, discover new materials and new methods to approach the manufacturing of a handwork or of a set of objects. To me jewellery was and, nowadays, still remains the opportunity to find a moment devoted to myself, a moment to cultivate my imagination and ingenuity. The art of making jewelry is an interaction between improvisation, skills and the perseverance that is necessary not to lose the thread of a creative process that accompanies me even when I am away from the working bench. I keep up-to-date on issues regarding jewels as well as on other issues, proceed on my path with genuine dedication and, in the meantime, I build up experience by means of a constant work inspired by a precise background concept.
